Nam has been 1:1 coaching for well over 20 years, however it is over the last 5 years that he has really immersed himself deeper into team environments & since then he’s had the great privilege to work with 2018 NRL Premiers the ‘Sydney Roosters’, AFL Premiers the ‘Richmond Tigers’ and Australia’s Olympic Teams in Surfing, Snowboarding and Kayaking. As with his 1:1 Coaching, Nam has an incredible talent to connect with coaches and athletes and deliver his message in a way that is easy to understand & practice.

It is Nam’s vast experience and knowledge of high performance breath work that usually attracts the attention of teams, with his methods varying from science based to complete innovation, a style that invigorates teams looking for new ways to grow & perform at their best.

Nam’s flagship program known as Breath Enhancement Training (BET) helps athletes develop effective breathing practices for high intensity experiences, mental regulation, decision-making & recovery. Whether the athletes are land or water based, breath work training begins with theory and then heads in to the water for dynamic drills which challenge the breath, finer motor skills, balance and decision making – the super long breath holds are a myth! Learnings are transferable across all sporting domains and also support the pressures of every day life in & out of the competitive arena.

Nam’s coaching style often incorporates training all 3 areas of performance (body, mind & skill) at once, pushing athletes to the edge of their comfort zone so that key traits (favourable & unfavourable) can be identified in-the-moment and new skills can be learnt, applied & tested immediately. Team members are able to work out quickly what does & doesn’t support themselves and/or the team operating at their best.

Nam is highly experienced in many areas of mind & body conditioning and as his performance coaching sessions continue, he looks at the existing physical & mental skill frameworks that teams already have in place and offers further guidance, to both coaches and athletes, on how his principles can be embedded to support further growth of all team members throughout the season.
