Over the last 13 years Nam has worked extensively with over 10 different individual World & Olympic Champions, the Australian Red Bull Squad, 2018 NRL Premiers ‘The Sydney Roosters’ and AFL Premiers Richmond Tigers’. Peak Athlete performance requires the training of 3 areas, the body, the mind & the skill. Nam’s sessions often incorporate training all 3 areas at once, pushing the athlete to the edge of their comfort zone so that their traits (favourable & unfavourable) can be identified in-the-moment and new skills can be learnt, applied & tested immediately. They’re able to work out quickly what does & doesn’t work for then.

Your Body:

Whilst there are certainly times when you will train your body OR your mind OR your skills on their own, Nam’s coaching approach often combines all three together. He also recognises that competing can be very different from training (both mentally & physically) and this gap needs to be minimised, in order to maximise performance. For example, in competition the requirement to think whilst under pressure is usually far greater than at training, there’s the need to react quicker to environmental stimuli, and at times you need the ability to move in ways that are purely response-based rather than you yourself initiating a movement when you chose i.e. that moment you decide to start a weight lifting set in the gym.
Therefore, sessions with Nam require you to go into Comp Mode often, to raise your self awareness and train your physical & mental skills under pressure simultaneously. As he often says “You always fall to the level of your training, so train at the highest level. When it’s time to perform you can then say to yourself I’ve done the work, now let’s enjoy the moment”. You will also become very clear on your unique method to activate the ‘Flow State’, what key components are required from both your mind and body to be in that optimal flow state for high performance, and how to become more effective at activating this state when required.

Your Skill:

The majority of sports require incredible body awareness, finer motor skills, mental composure and deep focus. Nam will challenge these capabilities by taking you through innovative, highly interactive drills involving hand-eye coordination, proprioception and fast response/reactions. All drills train you to think more effectively in the moment, to be more agile, whilst improving mental composure and focus under pressure.
The drills quickly reveal the areas where you can improve, where your strengths lie, and together you and Nam will formulate strategies for future competition.

A well trained mind is required if you wish to access your best mindset & direct your attention effectively during pressure moments of any kind, in and out of competition. Discover which mental skills lay the foundation for high performance, and how to train them, allowing you to break through plateaus, increase your confidence & bring back the fun factor! Post session, unique MP4 recordings are made just for you, sometimes they are similar to an educational podcast reminding you of all the great learnings & discoveries experienced in your session, helping you to maximise the time you spend with Nam. At other times, special ‘breathing-mindfulness-imagery’ recordings are made, unique to you, that help your brain & nervous system wire together for peak performance.
